Show us you life - Wedding Dress

I decided to join the Show us your life- Wedding Dress on Kelly's Korner Blog this week!

The Dress!

The Dress! I think the story behind my dress is way more entertaining than the actual dress. I shopped and shopped for a dress that I liked and I just couldn't find one. It can be difficult when all the stores have to try on is a size 2 or size 20. You just can't tell what a dress will look like. Well I found a dress that was, well let's just say WAY too big, but I thought I liked it. The store was going to make me buy it if we ordered it and I wasn't ready to make that commitment so I got on the phone with every wedding dress store in AR that carried this line. Finally, a lady with a store called "Wonderland Weddings" yes you read that right said she would order the dress and if I didn't like it she would just put it on her floor. Well this lady thought her store was in Little Rock, but the reality is it is in East End, AR. Have you ever even heard of that town? Yeah, I didn't think so. There is a reason for that. It is a hole in the wall...with one wedding/prom dress store and a dairyette. It was an experience to say the least. I was with my whole family on our way to a funeral in South AR when we dropped in to try on the dress. Oh, but wait she didn't have a dressing room. I tried it on in her bathroom and looked at myself in a tiny mirror. Believe it or not, I knew this was this dress I wanted. So we paid about half price for it and got the heck out of there. It may not be the traditional way to find a wedding dress, but it worked for me!

My Shoes!
My grandmother pinning a handkerchief in my dress. It was worn by my great grandmother. I also wore the same veil that my mom wore!
Nick gave me the most beautiful Bible on our wedding day. His groomsmen had just delivered it to me.
Waiting for the it all to start!

My precious dad walking me down the aisle.
Heading to the reception.

Leaving the reception!

We had an absolute blast at our wedding! I know my dress is simple, but it is exactly what I wanted.

I love the story and the dress.
How sweet of your hubby to give you a bible and have his friends deliver it to you.
You married a keeper! Congratulations!
