After much discussion Nick and I decided to head NorthEast to St. Louis to celebrate our 1st anniversary. I have this goal to visit several big cities in the United States before we have kids so this was next on the list. Nick was trying to surprise me with a few ideas. Sometimes I feel like he knows me better than anyone, and other times (like when he suggests we go to the Joplin Downstream Resort and Casino for our 1 year) I feel like he has no clue what I enjoy. Anyways, we both concluded that STL would be fun. :) We left Friday after work with a quick stop on the way out of town at our new Murphy USA gas station. gas for $2.19/gallon. That is one thing Nick and I both enjoy...a good deal! It was no big deal for us to wait 10 minutes in line to get gas that cheap. ha!
We stayed at a hotel right by the arch in downtown St. Louis(compliments of my parents' reward points! thanks mom and dad!).
We started Saturday by walking to the Arch. I was really amazed at the documentary of how it was built...piece by piece taking 3 years! Wow!
Us in front of the Arch...
View from the top...Mississippi River below.
Saturday afternoon we had lunch at a local downtown restaurant then we headed to tour the Budwieser Brewery.
On the tour getting ready for our free beer at the end! :)
A true Clydesdale...so pretty!
Bottles getting labled...
We went to dinner Saturday night at Favazza's a lovely restaruant on The Hill, and Italian district. The hostess was a great hostess, but not such a great photographer.
We went back to the hotel for our wonderful anniversary cakes to finish off the celebration.
Sunday we visited the Zoo and ended our trip with a stop at HomeGoods. It was fun to have an adventurous weekend, but it's always great to be home!
Please excuse the pictures...I didn't feel like rotating them. :)
Hope you all had a great Tuesday!
