What's Going On?

We have a lot going on at the Rhoads' house these days. It seems summer has flown by! I LOVE sunshine and summertime and I could live in Florida. Nick on the other hand loves having a true four seasons. We've tried to make the most of the sunshine this year. We take weekly trips to our neighborhood pool, we've taken Mallie to a local creek, and taken several trips. Here is a list of what we've been up to:
-In April we headed to Fort Worth for a Kenny Chesney/Zac Brown Band Concert and we got to spend some fun time with The Bate's and the Stanford's. I love spending time with Nick's aunt and cousin. We both love KC and ZBB and it was such a fun concert!
-We hosted our 1st annual craw fish boil with our community group. I think we would both consider it a success.
-Nick's sister graduated from High School and we hosted her graduation party at our house. It was so fun to have all of his family and some of mine at our house to celebrate.
-Nick headed to Joplin two days after the tornado to help with relief efforts.  We went with our group the next weekend to continue helping.  The pictures don't do it justice and the community of Joplin is still in need of prayers.  It is hard to understand how one act of nature can cause such destruction.
-Nick has been busy finishing his masters in education and he finished his internship in May. He spent the summer working at his mom's law firm and is continuing to work for her until he finds a job.
-We went with our new friends Brian and Jessica Salmon to some fun events.  Our annual barn dance and a Lady Antebellum/Darius Rucker concert. We were literally on the 5th row at the concert.  so fun!

- We celebrated our 3rd anniversary with a quick trip to Branson. Spent some time shopping, relaxing by the pool, and eating at Cantina Laredo. We stopped at Roaring River on our way home and Nick fished.

-We spent the last week of July in Destin, FL (my favorite place) and it was lovely. We went with my family and even with a few rainy days we had a blast. It was the perfect relaxing vacation. We missed Brad and Sarah big time!
-We stopped in New Orleans on our way home from FL. It was great to visit a new city, but I personally think NOLA is pretty trashy..Bourbon Street is at least.
-We spent many summer nights with our friends and community group. I am continually realizing how blessed we are to have such a neat group of people to walk through life with. I am so thankful for these couples in our group. Lots of fun memories and good talks!
-Nick now has three annual requirements: annual crawfish boil, annual NYE party, and annual trip to Destin. I am fine with all of the above. :)

Work has been busy for me lately, but Nick is without a job. He is actively looking for a job and we are praying for provision in the meantime. I know God has big plans for his career so we are trusting HIS TIMING is perfect!
